Texas is Tops for Establishing a Business, According to New Study

A recently released Wallethub study identifies Texas as the number one state in America in which to establish a business. The study’s findings note that the business environment in Texas is what makes it so great for those wanting to start a business. After examining such data as the cost of doing business, worker engagement, and access to resources, it was clear that Texas was tops. The Lone Star State is great for business in so many ways, from how to set up an LLC in Texas to our thriving economy.

Don Hicks, UT-Dallas professor of political economy and public policy, spoke with KETR on the study. He explained that it boils down to Texas business growth attracting more entrepreneurs. “It’s almost as though it’s an epidemiology that growth spreads throughout a region in an organic sort of way.”

He went on to explain that the growth in Texas began with a mixture of big businesses making the city centers of the Lone Star State their homes, together with a general good living environment. In turn, this attracted a considerable amount of young talent, who help the larger companies, which is then reciprocated.

“When you have a lot of bright people capable of thinking about starting businesses, they’re very attuned to the needs of the major businesses in the region. And it’s easy, relatively easy, to establish a connection with them, and in a way the large companies help incubate or support, nurture some of the small ones,” Hicks explained to KETR.
