Officials Say the Texas Workforce Grew This Summer

It’s been tough for some time now out in the United States workforce. Many people are still trying to gain their footing in terms of steady employment, but it takes a lot more than rough times to get Texans down. Thankfully, there’s some good news on the workforce front according to MySA.com. The number of jobs in Texas has grown by 21,400 in August alone!

The Texas Workforce Commission reported the number of growth on Friday morning, citing financial activities as the largest source of growth with the addition of 6,200 jobs. Though not all of the numbers are up, MySA.com states, “The Texas seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for August is 4.7 percent, slightly worse than July’s 4.6 percent.” The negative change for Texas’s overall unemployment rate is rather small, but on the other hand, “San Antonio’s seasonally unadjusted unemployment rate fell to 3.9 percent in August from 4.2 percent in July.”

Interestingly, the number of jobs in Texas has actually been growing for 16 out o the 17 past months. Though we’ve become accustomed to worrying about jobs in America, it looks like Texas continues to hold some motivating and positive statistics.
