This 4-Year-Old Singing the Blues is Simply Adorable
Jaxson may be just a little boy, but it seems like he’s got the Blues running through his veins. This video of the 4-year-old singing the Blues with his father is almost too cute for words.
His dad, Dan Marshall, posted the video to his YouTube page explaining that it was Jaxson’s first gig. The father-son duo performed together at a local variety show called the Cavalcade of Stars. In the descriptions of the video, Dan says that his son learned the words to “Deep Ellum Blues” from singing it over and over with him in the car. The song is an American traditional, and has been recorded by multiple artists since the 1930s.
With his dad on guitar and helping with vocals, Jaxson sings the song while continuously glancing over at his dad under his shaggy bangs. We don’t know what’s cuter — his hands casually chilling in his pockets or is “ABCD” t-shirt. Toward the end, Jaxson really gets the crowd going by clapping along with the music.
At the end of their performance, the crowd roars and Jaxson shares his appreciation by saying, “Thank you very much. Thank you, Cincinnati, Ohio.” Too cute!
