Tickets for the State Fair of Texas went on sale in early August, and Dallas Culture Map wrote out discount ticket information all the way back in May, but many Texans haven’t secured their fair passes yet. As 99.5 The Wolf points out, the 24-day event starts rather soon on September 29th, so it’s time to lay down some concrete plans and find a discounted rate that works for you and your family.

On opening day, military members and their families can get in for free, while others can bring “a Full 20-ounce Dasani water or Coca-Cola product for donation to the North Texas Food Bank gets in for $10.” Other discounts include: obtaining McDonald’s coupons, bringing in an empty Dr. Pepper on Tuesdays, giving 4 cans of food to the North Texas Food Bank drive on Wednesdays, and downloading the DART GoPass. Also, on October 13th, first responders and their family can get in for free. See the lists on Dallas Culture Map and 99.5 The Wolf for full details on additional offers and specifics on what’s required of military and first responders.

If you need a nudge in deciding whether or not you’ll attend the State Fair of Texas, check out the winners of the “Best Tasting Savory” and “Best Tasting Sweet” food categories that you’ll want to try this year in the short slideshow below.
