Timekeeper Keeps Ticking as 57th Basketball Season Comes to a Close

After she attended college, Davenport came back home and was a teacher at the Utopia I.S.D.’s elementary school. She kept the scorekeeping books until 1981. At that time, the previous longtime timekeeper operator retired, and Davenport took over the timekeeping position. When she retired from teaching in 1998, she expected that she would retire her court-side job, too, but it did not work out that way. They needed her to continue, and she has done so graciously up until this day, with no end in sight to her court-side service.
