Located in Waxahachie, Texas is Munster Mansion. An exact replica of the 60’s sitcom “The Munsters.” Delighting folks since 2002, and is the hard work and home of Sandra and Charles McKee. If you were a fan of the sitcom you will appreciate the attention to detail given to each room that makes you feel as if you stepped right into the show. “It has been painstakingly recreated room by room, through watching and re-watching footage from the show. Many pieces in the house are from the show or exact matches of items from the show,” shares the website.

Although not open for daily tours, the Mckees do host events from time to time and a big annual Halloween open house with organized tours by which droves of fans stop by in tour buses and stand in a long line waiting to step back into time and revisit the “The Munsters.” They’ve even had the original Marilyn Munster, Pat Priest, stop by to greet visitors and sign autographs at the annual event.

This year, according to their Facebook page, there will not be an annual open house event during Halloween or any scheduled private tours as they are under construction. You can enjoy a peek inside from the YouTube video above though.

The McKees donate all proceeds raised from the annual event to support a local charity each year. “We love to share our passion for this house and make a difference to a local organization while doing so,” shares the website. As this is the full-time home of the couple they shared that living there is a “dream come true” for them and do ask that the community respect their privacy as any other neighbor.
