5 Hot Places To Go Tubing in the Hill Country
Serving the San Marcos tubing crowd is Texas State Tubes. Offering two parking locations, tubers can choose to ride the shuttle bus to the launch destination or park at the launch destination and ride the shuttle bus back once their tube trip is complete. Rules for tubing the San Marcos River are similar to the Comal and Guadalupe river trips, adult beverages are welcome with ice chest tubes available for rental, but leave Styrofoam and glass at home. The Paddler’s Porch in Junction is ready and waiting to outfit river lover’s for a tour by tube, kayak or canoe. Like other outfitters, ice chest tubes are available for easy access to cold drinks while on the river. There’s an added bonus to renting from these folks too – burgers and beer pre or post float. Andy’s on River Road in Concan offers tubes, kayaks, and canoes for rental on the Frio River. With overnight accommodations from cabins to tent sites, Andy’s provides for folks looking to make a multi-day trip out of their river excursion. Tubes rent with or without bottoms and tubes to hold ice chest rent for an additional fee. Choose from the timeless classic rubber tube or check out the newer versions made from PVC.
