When an 8-year-old Ohio boy started craving fast food from McDonald’s, he took matters into his own hands. ABC 13 says that when the boy’s parents fell asleep on Sunday, he grabbed the keys to his dad’s van, loaded his 4-year-old sister inside, and drove all the way to the golden arches.

“He didn’t hit a single thing on the way there. It was unreal,” East Palestine Patrolman Jacob Koehler told The Weirton Daily Times. The boy learned how to drive from watching YouTube videos, and incredibly, he managed to obey all traffic laws and made it to the McDonald’s roughly a mile and a half away from his home.

When the child driver pulled up to the drive-thru window, the McDonald’s staff thought it must be a prank. They were shocked to see that his parents were not hiding in the back of the car, and they called the police.

Koehler says that it was not an issue of neglect. Both children had eaten well that day, but the boy “really wanted a cheeseburger.” While talking to police, he began crying, realizing he was in trouble. He will not have any charges filed against him, and he did, in fact, get a cheeseburger.
