A video recorded in the Texas Hill Country on August 20 recently went viral, showing footage of an 18-wheeler on Interstate 35 North, pushing a Mercedes-Benz. Authorities have since released the crash report, which explains what happened leading up to the incident, video of which Adrian Lopez shared on Facebook, causing a social media sensation.

Sharing three video clips which show a black Mercedes-Benz being pushed down the highway by the truck for approximately one mile, Lopez’s footage has resulted in 29K shares. The post has also garnered more than 2K reactions and caused Facebook users to give their best guesses as to how the crash occurred.

San Antonio police stated that the driver of the Mercedes-Benz, Leon Morris, entered the Interstate at approximately 1 p.m. from the access at North Main Avenue. He then merged into the lane which was second from the left. It was at that time that the 18-wheeler merged from the left lane into the same one that the car was in, and the luxury model was struck. Their report further stated that “…due to the obvious difference in size, the 18 wheeler did not initially feel the crash and continued driving. A short time later the driver noticed something was wrong and immediately pulled over. There were no indications of any road rage and no intentional acts and the contributing factor was listed as driver inattention.” The driver of the car was transferred to a downtown medical center and the driver of the transport was listed as “visibly shaken,” but uninjured.
