Trying to imagine your perfect wedding? If you’re interested in Vista West Ranch and The Creek Haus, a venue in Dripping Springs, this video will make the vision appealingly clear Joe and Stacey Hogge have run their Hill Country venue for ten years. Dripping Springs was officially designated the wedding capital of Texas by state legislature two years ago, and the Hogges are proud that their venue was one of the originals in the area. It’s only natural that they’d be featured in episode two of a Youtube series called “The Wedding Capital of Texas.”

The series is produced by Dawn Denny of Low Key Films and is the result of changed plans for what was originally a documentary about the Hogges and their venue. “A couple years ago we decided to expand the venue and build The Creek Haus,” Joe said. “We bought a piece of property a quarter mile away and started building when Dawn (Denny), our neighbor, approached us about doing a documentary on the process.” Denny filmed the Hogges for about three to four months, Joe said. She even filmed the first wedding at The Creek Haus.

“The idea was to submit the film to channels and see if somebody would pick it up and get us on TV,” Joe said. “It went well at first, it made it to high levels on some channels, but the last feedback came last year. We were told it was too nice, there was no drama, there was no conflict or anything, it’s just a happy story.” After negotiations with the television channels fell through, Denny began her Youtube series and was able to use the footage from her time working with and filming the Hogges.

“I think it allows our couples and future couples to see who we are,” Joe said. “We do this because we love it and we have fun doing it. We’re not just some place that pumps out thousands of weddings, we actually care. I hope people can see that through the film.” Stacey said Vista West Ranch and The Creek Haus atmosphere captures the Texas Hill Country in a classy, upscale way and is a blend of rustic and chic.

Vista West Ranch is the main venue and can be rented out for a full day. “It’s not just the space,” Joe said of the ranch. “We also include a lot for the wedding day – tables, chairs, linens, a DJ and a bartending service, you bring the alcohol to save money. We also provide a day-of coordinator. We want somebody to be here and in charge and take care of everything so guests can relax and enjoy their day.”

The Creek Haus, the new addition, is a weekend package deal for couples who want to have a wedding retreat. “I think people like the idea, though it’s not for everybody,” Joe said. “It’s for people wanting a destination – a full weekend adventure. You get the whole place for four days and three nights. We don’t care if you sleep ten people or all seventy (the capacity).”

Joe and Stacey said they want people to understand that Vista West Ranch and The Creek Haus is not a wedding factory that tries to book and rush through as many weddings as possible. “We really want you to come enjoy this place and space,” Joe said. “We’re big family people. When we book a couple, we always give them a big hug and welcome them to the family.”
