The 2021 Volvo XC 90 model has some minor styling changes including a new concave grille and complementary refined front and rear bumpers.
The R-Design models add glossy-black accents for inside mirrors, window trim and roof rails.
There is a 12.3-inch touch screen that is now standard, featuring smart phone, integrated Sensus connect, integrated apple Car/Play Android auto and Sensus Navigation Pro.
Admittedly this is a very complex system, especially when attempting to move from one feature to another. There were numerous features I could not find or understand how to use once found.
Small lettering and numbers on gauges on the instrument panel and the small gauge size themselves made it most difficult to read.
Seating is in a seven seat confederation with comfortable captain chairs for the back row as well as front.

The T 8 Inscription is the most powerful and luxurious add on in the Volvo quality line.
The 2.0-Liter turbo charged direct injection engine an 8-speed transmission with start-stop combine 400-horsepower and 472- lb-ft torque. The HP electric motor provides 11.6 kWh high voltage (270-400 volt) Battery Dual Voltage (110Volts/220volt), and charging cable e AWD. Fuel economy was 55 mpg electricity and 27 mpg gasoline.
Complementing the engine are added safety and performance features like: electronic power assisted steering, adjustable drive-mode settings, antilock braking system (ABS). Including this elite ensemble Hill Start Assist, advanced electronic stability control (ESC). All the while resting on handsome 20-inch wheels with all-season tires.
The laminated moon roof brings our Indian-Summer weather inside. The power sunshade is available to use should a typical Texas-Summer return.
Nappa Leather upholstery on ventilated front seats with wood blend chrome bars provide inside attention. Wood blend bright chrome bars are also featured in front grille with chrome window trim outside.
If summer returns just briefly, the four-zone automatic climate control plus clear zone is there to help.

Volvo has more standard safety and security features than any manufacturer I know. Examples: Pilot Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Avoidance by City Safety, Low and High Sped Collision Mitigation and On coming Mitigation Braking, just to name to name a few.
The XC 90 is definitely impressive. The stylish and luxurious materials are splendid. The wood trim and upholstery are superb, and the roominess of the cabin is delightful. There is an abundance of space for head, legs, elbows and feet with plenty of space for cargo.
When driving you will accelerate with confidence as the shifting is smooth between gas and electric power. I drove mostly in hybrid mode. For the ride quality and price you pay, Volvo XC 90 is a great deal.
