Waco Family Wins ‘Great Christmas Light Fight’ Contest on ABC

KXXV writes that Waco couple Alice and Epifanio Tristan were featured on this year’s “Great Christmas Light Fight” on ABC. The holiday show highlights sweet stories of beautiful Christmas light displays and a monetary prize for the most impressive display. At 71-years-old, Alice has been decorating her house with a multitude of lights for 40 years. It takes her 2.5 months to complete, which includes putting on her knee pads and climbing up on the roof!

Alice first started constructing her amazing display to brighten her daughter’s spirits who was in the hospital across the road. She continued for many years to delight children and families who were staying at the Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. “Get up in the morning and say thank you Jesus, don’t think about your age, just keep going. That’s what I do. Merry Christmas to y’all and a happy new year and I hope God gives me another year,” Alice told KXXV.

Incredibly, the Tristans won this year’s prize of $50,000!
