Massive Water Park to Open in Round Rock

Those seeking relief from the heat while still having summer fun, expect a new oasis to open up soon. This week, Kalahari Resorts and Conventions announced plans for a $250 million water park and hotel located in Round Rock (just north of Austin)!

The colorful water park is expected to stand across from the Dell Diamond stadium and take up about 200,000 square feet. Kalahari Resorts are well-known for their indoor water parks with African-themed decor. The Round Rock location will have indoor and outdoor attractions, restaurants, over 1000 hotel rooms and a convention center.

This marks the forth water park in the U.S. owned by Kalahari Resorts who have been voted the “World’s Coolest Indoor Water parks.” We can’t help but wonder if they’ll have as catchy of a jingle as Schlitterbahn’s “The Hottest Coolest Time in Texas (We’re Going to Schlitterbahn).”
