The 120th annual West Texas Fair & Rodeo returns to Abilene September 5 – 14. Held at the Taylor County Expo Center, just minutes from downtown Abilene, this Lone Star favorite features ten days of wall-to-wall western fun.
This time-honored event has something for everyone. It’s an old fashioned county fair combined with a PRCA rodeo. Time to don that cowboy hat and put on your best western duds to be amused and entertained. Not to mention awed by those fearless bull riders and other rodeo performers!

The theme for this year’s fair is a tongue-in-cheek “Are We Fair Yet?” The fair features classic carnival rides, plus all the great grub associated with an old-fashioned county fair. Don’t miss the ever popular Tractor Pull or the livestock and horse shows. It’s all celebrated with a kickoff parade sponsored by HEB and held in downtown Abilene Sept. 7, starting at 10:30 a.m.
Gate admission for adults is $8 on week days and $10 on weekends. Admission is $4 every day for students. Rodeo tickets and carnival rides are extra. Discounts are available for certain days.
