Whataburger is of course a Texas Hill Country favorite for many reasons, but our neighbors in the East Texas pineywoods just gave us another reason to love the famous burger chain.

As Facebook user Chris Collins pointed out, the Tyler, Texas branch made sure to honor his grandfather, Hudson Collins, who passed away just recently at the age of 94. Collins served our great country in the Army Air Corps during World War II, when Gen. Patton and the Allies defeated Nazi Germany.

They called him “Mr. Hudson”, and the gentleman and warrior is said to have celebrated his 94th birthday at the restaurant in October. In preparation for the visit Whataburger brought in balloons, prepared a special table and lined it with gifts.

You won’t find that from the people in funny hats over at In-N-Out Burger, guaranteed. Is it dinner time yet?
