You Need to Stop Using These ‘Germ-Free’ Hand Dryers Right Now

The jet hand dryers that are produced by Dyson claim to be ‘germ-free’, but a virus dispersal study is busting that myth.

A new study published in the Journal of Applied Microbiology revealed the truth behind the virus dispersal of three different hand-washing styles: paper towels, jet dryers, and warm air dryers, as reported by IFL Science.

Compared to paper towels, the jet hand dryers “spread 1,300 times more viral plaque-forming units than paper towels.” Jet dryers, compared to other warm-air dryers, “spread 60 times the amount.” Additionally, these jet ‘germ-free, hands-free’ dryers “can fling viruses up to 10 feet.”

These findings are disgustingly alarming, for good reason, too as Dyson hands-free dryers are still being installed in thousands of bathrooms across the country.
