Imagine putting on a pair of glasses and seeing the world as you did when you were a child. For Joseph Romeo this became a reality when his wife surprised him with EnChroma glasses, which allowed him to see color for the first time in over two decades.

When Joseph was only seven years old he lost the ability to see color due to a rare condition. He still remembered the names of colors, so when he was able to see them again, he could name the hues he had missed for so long!

Enchroma glasses provide those who are colorblind with lenses that help them to see color once again or for the first time. Their website says that they are the “only specialty eyewear that alleviates red-green color blindness, enhancing colors without the compromise of color accuracy.”

Joseph commented on his YouTube upload to provide an update. He wrote, “After 7 months of wearing these, colors have definitely become more and more vibrant. Playing video games can be an emotional experience now…”

Watch Joseph’s reaction when he excitedly first put on the glasses and realized simple things like the color of his car  and the shade his wife was wearing.
