It’s hard to put those trusty old flip-flops away when the cold weather begins. You just got them to perfectly formed to your feet and now you’re expected to put them away for a few months. But luckily, for those who want to keep wearing their summer gear into the winter here in Texas, FOX 7 reports that crafters have invented something no one knew they needed – flip-flop socks.

Some might assume that this means that toe-socks have returned, but flip-flop socks are a different take on the prior fashion that required each toe to be individually wrapped. “I cant keep them in my shop. I list them and in a few days they are snatched up,” Etsy shop owner Sophia Vernava told the news. Over on her page SewDarnComfy, one can see that her flip-flop socks (which are currently sold out) are more like yoga socks, with a space for the heel and toes to be exposed to keep a grip on in a pair of sandals.

A further search on Etsy shows that flip-flop socks come in a variety of styles including a mitten-like form where the big toe is separated from the rest of the pack. Admittedly, it looks a bit strange, but it could be worth it to stay warm!
