What is Austin culture without entertainment slightly off the beaten path? Music. Art. Fashion. Film. Theatre. You name it, Austin likes it a little weird. Not everyone, of course. Some prefer coloring in the lines. Austin has it all and has all types of people and personalities. To match this eclectic spirit, Austin is hosting a new play, “A Wolverine Walks Into A Bar,” that promises this same mix of personalities and interest, in this, it’s final weekend.

The show boasts Jaston Williams (of Tuna, Texas fame) and Lauren Lane (veteran actress from TV’s “The Nanny”) as leads. “A Wolverine Walks Into A Bar” is described as, “a bevy of colorful, quirky and endearing American characters in multiple short scenes, including a pacifist from Texas who bonds with a gun-toting grandma, an elderly Grande Dame and world traveler who has a history of sinking gondolas, an Anglo man who longs to be Hispanic, married to a Hispanic woman who wants to be Anglo and the most unlikely couple to ever dance the cotton-eyed Joe!”

WHAT: “A Wolverine Walks Into A Bar,” starring Jaston Williams and Lauren Lane

This is one not to be missed! In its final weekend, this performance would make for a good night out on Friday or Saturday, or a nice day activity for Saturday or Sunday. Purchase your tickets here.

Congress Avenue is a street full of activity, so go early and walk around a bit before you head in for the show. Consider reserving a spot at one of Austin’s premier or down-to-earth restaurants before or after the show. Take a walk along the river. The temperatures are just right for a walk around town that ends in the comfort of a cushy seat and an entertaining production. Our guess is that “A Wolverine Walks Into A Bar” will not disappoint!
