It’s possible that Houston might have a WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) celebrity as their mayor in 2020 since Booker T. Huffman has thrown his hat into the ring.

While he initially announced his intent on running for mayor on his Houston radio show called “Heated Conversations,” the press wasn’t quite sure what to make of his claims. Was he serious? On December 13th, Huffman made his statement very clear by tweeting a letter reading, “I am happy to report that after great deliberation and with the counsel of my family and friends, I have indeed decided to run for the office of mayor in the 2019 race.” He goes on to explain that he feels he would be a good leader for the city he loves since he’s lived a life of soaring highs and tragic lows and has a good understanding of the people of Houston.

Huffman has a large resume when it comes to the WWE. WWE.com says that he’s an “11-time WCW Tag Team Champion, a six-time World Champion, winner of the 2006 King of the Ring Tournament and the man responsible for popularizing the word, ‘Sucka!’ in sports-entertainment.” Maybe they’ll be adding “mayor of Houston” to his biography in 2020.
