You Have to See This Austin Artist’s Tribute to Willie Nelson
The downtown Austin Resource Center for the Homeless building (near 7th and Neches Streets) is getting a face lift in the form of a Willie Nelson tribute. The center now features a colorful mural of the country music legend on an exterior wall.
The artwork is painted by local Austin artist and musician Wiley Ross. Wiley claimed that he’s been wanting to do something like this for a quite a while, and now it’s finally happening.

Ross says that the response to the artwork has been very positive. “All the homeless cats down here really dig it. Haven’t had any problems with them at all man, they’ve been real cool. And then just you know people driving by taking pictures. It’s been an overwhelmingly positive response,” explains Ross.

The tribute piece coincides perfectly with the release of Willie Nelson’s latest album, Summertime: Willie Nelson Sings Gershwin. The album is now on sale!
