Google has been the search engine used to determine everything from the type of lifestyle the stars live to what some natural remedies are for common cold symptoms. So, it shouldn’t come as a shocker that, as a reference tool, it’s a go-to for millions of users in the recipe department as well. From trying to find an old family favorite to determining what the latest trends are for settling in for a great meal, Google has released its 2019 list of the top 10 most-searched recipes, a few of which may make you think!

In the days of modern technology, when we seem to be enthralled with what foodies share on our social media walls and accounts, monstrous meals appear to be in fashion. But in fact, the recipes that were sought after in 2019 through Google were the exact opposite. Keto-everything appeared to be popular, along with other recipe searches that will suit the various lifestyles we lead. Video tutorials for things like how to bake a pecan pie or barbecue the best steak (hello…Texas?) are a growing trend as well. Google has all the tricks and trends we follow in hopes we’ll be able to recreate something so mouth-watering our friends and family will applaud us… or maybe, we simply love good food, and we’re going to sit at home in our P.J.’s eating everything by ourselves. You don’t know, Karen.

Here in the Lone Star State, we appear to be attracted to the classics, and our taste for tempting food shares on our social media has seen entire articles released around giant burritos, places to get the best chili, and how to make tortilla soup! Other states appear to be following in our footsteps. This year’s Google list for the 10 most-searched recipes included such classics as Shepherd’s Pie, Tater Tot Casserole, and even Chicken Parmigiana. Yes, there were some standouts. The fact that Popeye’s Chicken Sandwich made the list may give you pause for thought. But really, is it any wonder that people long to know how to make Snickerdoodle Cookies? We think not. The full list of the top 10 most-searched recipes on Google can be found at the link available here. Take a gander and see if you’ve searched online for any of these culinary creations. If you haven’t Googled number six on the list, word has it you’re not “in-the-know” when it comes to new food crazes. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!
