What could be better than fresh, mouth-watering boiled crawfish, all in the name of raising money for charity? While this combination is already hard to beat, add in some big-name music acts and you’ve got one heck of a festival. Enter the 30th Annual Llano Crawfish Open, taking place April 26 and 27. After 30 years of experience, Llano, Texas, knows a thing or two about crawfish.

As many know, the act of eating crawfish is an art and one that’s steeped in culture. Connoisseurs have specific and detailed opinions about the correct way to eat these tasty offerings. Don’t know how? Ask any number of participants when you attend the Llano Crawfish Open, and they will undoubtedly offer you an enthusiastic demonstration. Crawfish experts love to share.

While you dig into your own helping of crawfish, sit back and listen to big acts like Tracy Lawrence, Weldon Henson, Josh Ward, and Mayeux & Broussard, in addition to local talent. Live music will be playing all day Friday and Saturday! Be sure to grab a ticket. The event is free on Friday until 7 p.m. After that time, it costs $20. On Saturday you will pay $10 until 7 p.m. when the price goes up to $20. Please remember that this is a charity event and any additional contribution is greatly appreciated. This event will take place rain or shine! Find more information and tickets at the Llano Crawfish Open website.

Golfers are sure to be interested in entering the accompanying golf tournament. Can you imagine a better weekend than an early round of golf to raise money for charity and then ending the day with music and good food? If golfing isn’t your thing, check out the 5K run and the auction. Both offer fun ways to raise additional funds for charity. And bring your wallet, because there will also be vendors selling incredible arts and crafts. Is it ever really a festival without arts and crafts?

Speaking of charity, two amazing groups are the primary recipients of the money raised: the Llano Special Opportunity Center and Meals on Wheels. The Llano Special Opportunity Center assists mentally and physically challenged adults in many ways, and Meals of Wheels delivers hot, healthy meals to home-bound people. In addition, some money raised goes to assist with Flood Aid, as this area has seen no shortage of rain and flood damage in the past year.

Bring along the family! This is a kid-friendly event with many fun activities specifically geared toward the younger crowds. Kiddos and adults alike will have a blast at the Llano Crawfish Open while helping raise money for a good cause!
