3 Things You Shouldn’t Overlook While Visiting The Alamo

The site for the Alamo itself is surrounded by large, hundred-year-old trees which help to keep the grounds cool. The timeline of the site and the city around it is also included in this area, as well as the six flags that each (at one time or another) flew over Texas, which are displayed on site together with the cannons which were found on the site.

An incredible diorama of the Alamo and its grounds is on display in the gift shop as well. Even if you decide not to purchase any items or memorabilia, this is a must-see. It offers a unique perspective on what the area looked like at that time, and what those that held the mission for those 13 days were up against. It was a different time indeed, and one that we can all learn a lot from. Enjoy your time learning, and of course remembering, the Alamo.
