If you are searching for a bed and breakfast that is different than the typical stay in an older Victorian-style home with lovely antiques, Bella Vista Bed & Breakfast on Lake Travis might be just the place for you.

You are not going to just run across Bella Vista by accident. It’s only about 4 miles outside of Marble Falls, Texas, but you do need to start with an address or some directions to get to it. It is on 30 acres of land with the guest houses and the Innkeepers’ home settled on lovely grounds with pretty views and beautiful, yet functional gardens. Also living with the Innkeepers, and possibly greeting you at some time during your stay, are three friendly dogs: Bella, Einstein, and Meggie.

Bella Vista’s guest houses have light colored stone exteriors and a more rustic interior than their Victorian style counterparts. Bedrooms with private baths have luxuriously comfortable beds with sumptuous linens and homey furnishings. Each of the three bedrooms in the main Guest House open out onto their own private patio overlooking the back of the grounds and a small river-like finger of Lake Travis – the perfect place to sit and sip coffee in the morning or to watch the day fade into evening.

Mary and Andy Doerfler are the delightful couple who own this Hill Country oasis and who have a knack for making people feel right at home in their guest houses. They are funny, interesting, and very knowledgeable about the area. Mary is also an excellent cook and will let you sit back and relax while she prepares delicious home cooked breakfasts each morning of your stay. They find out your likes and dislikes and make yummy specialty foods using ingredients they grow themselves in their gardens on the property. Visitors in the main Guest House are treated to a delicious home-cooked meal each morning, along with great conversation and information.

Guests in the nearby Cowboy Cottage have a living area and fully stocked kitchen to themselves. This is a different guest house with two bedrooms, perfect for two couples traveling together or a family. It also has comfortable furnishings and beautiful surroundings.

Andy and Mary know how to take great care of guests. You can stay to yourself, if you prefer, or join in with them and interact with the other guests staying there. They love Marble Falls and the surrounding area, and they can offer ideas and suggestions for outings, restaurants, and just about anything you would want to know, satisfying the whims and the needs of all different kinds of visitors, allowing each group of guests to go off on their own and have great times, making great memories.
