Homeowners of the ‘Breaking Bad’ House Still Having Trouble with Fans
It’s been four years since new episodes of “Breaking Bad” stopped airing, but fans of the show have reignited their love for the series by watching the spin-off show “Better Call Saul” and by rewatching the original series on Netflix. Since the home and neighborhood of the infamous Walter White are continuously featured on “Breaking Bad,” fans want to catch a glimpse of the actual property in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The only problem is, someone lives there, and after all of this time, they are still having to deal with the extra attention.
KOB4 writes, “After years of taking vandalisms, trespassing and general rudeness in stride, the real-life homeowners have said enough, it’s off limits.” They’re going to place a six-foot iron fence in front of the house with the hope that they will be able to remove it eventually.
Since the Balloon Fiesta is taking place now, there are hundreds of tourists stopping by continuously. Besides asking the homeowners to close the garage so they can get a better picture, some fans have even thrown pizzas on the roof, reenacting a scene from the show. Buzzfeed writes that the show’s creator Vince Gilligan even spoke about the issue, “Let me tell you, there is nothing original or funny or cool about throwing a pizza on this lady’s roof. It is just not funny. It’s been done before. You are not the first…It’s so uncool, please stop.”
