Brownwood’s many parks and trails allow for ample outdoor fun as well as nearby Lake Brownwood and the Pecan Bayou. Take advantage of the many available outdoor activities at gorgeous Lake Brownwood State Park or wander through the Brownwood Loop of the Heart of Texas East Wildlife Trail then visit one of 19 city parks totaling 317 acres.

If cruising the open road is more your speed, then you’re in luck because several U.S. Highways pass through the city of Brownwood. Observe thousands of species of wildflowers and native grasses blooming by the side of the road each spring thanks to the TxDOT Wildflower Program. Join one of Way Out Wineries Road Trips that will take you to a group of eleven boutique family-owned and operated wineries stretching from Austin to Forth Worth.
