Other foods that are heavy contributors for reducing LDL are oatmeal, beans (legumes), salmon, flaxseed, spinach, and nuts. Some foods that contribute immensely to HDL are Avocados, dark chocolate, citrus fruits, and peppers.
The Weekly Challenger points out that, “While some people are wary of peanuts because of their high fat content, they can be a tasty way to make your whole body healthier, especially for those with high cholesterol. A study conducted by researchers from Penn State and the University of Rochester reveals that foods high in monounsaturated fats, like peanuts, can significantly reduce LDL cholesterol levels.”

And don’t forget Green Tea. Several cups or glasses a day combined with a good diet, some exercise and a stick to it attitude can improve your health, reducing cholesterol levels dramatically and helping you keep the LDL in check, without affecting the good HDL. These results can be yours without taking a prescription drug and living without their side effects. All of these suggestions are no “magic bullet”, but new research is continually coming forth with proof that natural, organic foods are the best medicines for our bodies, as they contain all the nutrients to heal our ailments. And, don’t forget that dark chocolate is included in these nutritious food chains.

Research continues to refine the irrefutable results of berries, as well as other foods, on heart health, with the bottom line being cholesterol control. Everyone has cholesterol and the job it does in our circulatory systems is amazing. But too much of a good thing always has repercussions, i.e., LDL, from the wrong foods will clog up the plumbing and can contribute to heart attacks.
Take charge of your health, know your numbers and address them up front.
