Dallas Cowboys Make Video For The #MannequinChallenge
The “Mannequin Challenge” is the newest craze spreading through social media. Posts marked #mannequinchallenge feature panning shots over a scene of completely motionless participants who are pretending to be stuck in odd positions. It looks like time has frozen for everyone except the cameraperson. The result is surreal, funny and entertaining enough to have you scrolling through multiple videos.
Know Your Meme states that the earliest known incarnation of this meme started on October 26th with Twitter user @pvrity__ who posted a video that starred students at Edward H. White High School in Jacksonville, Florida posed in a classroom.

CNN notes that the subsequent #mannequinchallenge videos are usually accompanied by the song “Black Beatles” by Rae Sremmurd, probably because it was featured in the background of the original post.

The trend quickly spread through high schools and eventually made its way into mainstream entertainment. Of course, some all-star Texans had to take on the challenge. Yesterday, the Dallas Cowboys somehow managed to stay perfectly still while on a plane. Their take on the #mannequinchallenege is pretty impressive!
