Once a year, for eighteen days, San Antonio gets rodeo fever. This epidemic began 69 years ago, and everyone shows different symptoms. One of the best remedies around is to get to the grounds, watch events, eat some carnival food, and the visit the H-E-B Craft Beer Tap Room tent! Now located in The Watering Hole, along with The Champion Wine Garden, it’s a beautifully landscaped place where seating, patio heaters, and games abound. Try your hand (and coordination) at cornhole, giant Jenga, and tiki toss hook and ring.

Inside, it’s warm and comfortable with plenty of tables, chairs, and purse hooks! Enjoy the roasted peanuts on each table and the honky-tonk chic atmosphere, including historical photos, rustic elements, and Brewser the Bar Elk, who watches over the 24 different taps. Try rosé beer, a 72 IBU draught, or something fruity. Live music by Texas musicians also happens every day, rain or shine. Getting to the weekend means tastings hosted by represented breweries, and Sundays are a special treat: Micheladas (beer with lime, salt, and hot spices) and breakfast tacos are served until 1 p.m.

The mission of the H-E-B Craft Beer Tap Room is to raise money for deserving and hardworking students, alongside the San Antonio Livestock Exposition (S.A.L.E.), which works with the community, volunteers, and donors. In its history, over $198 million has been awarded. See remaining dates below for opening times; the tent closes when everyone is done.
