The Texas State Railroad has an amazing trip planned for those wanting to see and celebrate everything that makes spring in Texas a wonderful season. 50 miles worth of riding the rails through the East Texas Piney Woods, fields of wildflowers, over bridges, and even experiencing a locomotive turntable, makes the Easter Egg Express one for the books. There’s even a special appearance by “somebunny” special at the end, which your kids, grandkids, nieces, or nephews will never forget. Your experience starts at the Palestine train depot.

The four-hour trip tours its riders past fields of sunflowers and, throughout the month of April, the tracks are lined with flowering dogwood trees! And last but not least, the bluebonnet blooms you’ll pass in the process are enough to make you sigh! There’s also lunchtime food and beverage specialties available for purchase, ensuring everyone’s needs are met while visiting the depot.

Not only that, but the Easter Bunny makes a special guest appearance at the end of the trip. Riders will disembark the train at the Palestine Depot, where children can then take part in fun, games, and activities, as well as an Easter egg hunt. They can enjoy some music and even have their photos taken with the Easter Bunny himself. If you’re interested in taking a ride on the Easter Egg Express with the Texas State Railroad, check ticket availability and pricing at the link available here, or visit their Facebook page for more information. The train is running on the 13th and 20th of April only, so get your tickets fast as they’re expected to fill up quickly.
