Austin may be known for the Texas State Capitol, the Austin City Limits show (four decades, and counting!), and “keep it weird”… That being said, there are a few things that Austin’s also known for that might slip past you every now and then, and we think you should know about them! Fun things – better than watching the bats take off in flight from the Congress Ave. Bridge (we think…) and better than sitting at home saying, “What’s there to do that’s fun in Austin?” Well here at the Texas Hill Country, we know Austin’s got some foolproof fun things to do, and we support our flock. Even the weird ones:

That’s right, bet you didn’t know that Austin is home to the Texas Roller Girls teams. Check out the next bout, scheduled for Saturday, February 18, and see what’s up for teams like the Texecutioners (cool name!), the Firing Squad, and the Honky Tonk Heartbreakers!

They want to feed you well and leave you delighted! That’s their mission at least, and who are we to argue with that? There are a number of tours, weekends and weekdays, corporate and private, and they highlight local, Texas-born establishments and a passion for good food. That’s what you get with an Austin Eats Food Tour!
Go Bowling at the Union Underground!

The Union Underground is a hidden gem in the Texas Hill Country when it comes to the bowling world. It isn’t always the first place that comes to mind when you’re thinking of places to go, and that makes it prime for the picking! It does cater to UT students, however, it’s open to the public. And the price can’t be beat. For the public, it’s $2.50-$3.50 per game (depending on when you bowl) and $2 for shoe rental. Hours and further information can be found here.
