Traveling between New Braunfels and Boerne on Highway 46 or on Highway 281 from San Antonio and looking for a bite to eat or an adult beverage by the fire? Turn off the highway for a bit and seek out Front Porch Bar and Grill at 2265 Bulverde Rd. #102 in Bulverde. Opened in July 2017, this restaurant with a full bar and enjoyable fare is the brainchild of Sandra Johnson and features a little something for everyone.

The large metal building sits back from the road and totes three huge roll-up garage doors, perfect for allowing breezes through in the summer and shutting out the chill (with the help of plenty of insulation) in the winter. Just outside is a tree-lined exterior boosting multiple picnic tables with umbrellas and a toasty fire pit; true accommodations for all seasons. Inside, restaurant-style tables are found in the front of the building, towards the middle are pub tables, and bar seating is available towards the rear.

The staff is friendly here and eager to boost your experience. Try the Muffuletta Sandwich with bacon dusted fries and a Rough Diamond beer, brewed locally. Enjoy live music during the evening on a weekend or come by during a Hot Rod show to catch an array of classic cars sunning themselves in the parking lot. With its roomy interior space, Front Porch Bar and Grill is also a great place for groups to gather, for an event or just to eat and gab! Plenty of televisions are mounted around, so you’ll always know the score.
