Back in June 1969, B.W. Burdett Builder, a home construction company in the Texas Hill Country, chose to join the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). On the evening of Tuesday, December 10, 2019, Buck Burdett was honored by the association for his career and service of five decades as a home builder. Check out the story on the Burdett Building Blog.

The National Association of Home Builders is recognized as one of the largest professional trade associations in the U.S. Founded in 1942, and headquartered in Washington, D.C., NAHB encompasses more than 800 state and local associations, including here in Texas. It presently consists of a 142K-member list, of which roughly 33 percent are remodelers or home builders. The remaining membership is comprised of those from supporting trades as well as housing industry product and service companies.

Together with his son Dan, Buck Burdett has recruited more than 500 new members to NAHB under the notion that family businesses are what help our economies and communities to thrive. They fuel expertise, build on teamwork, and grow to progress and elevate the next generation. The team at what is now known as Burdett Hill Country Homes L.P. continues to work under these beliefs, and supports NAHB as it supports its members, working to improve the housing industry from the ground up.

According to association details, on an annual basis, NAHB members construct close to 80 percent of all new homes that are built in the U.S. In and around the Highland Lakes area, Burdett Hill Country Homes L.P. has worked diligently and professionally to build hundreds of homes and commercial properties. Their third-generation building family has a span of expertise that ranges from $300K homes and buildings to $3M estates. Buck’s son Dan offers customers Design Build expertise, and their company has successfully left their mark in such places as Johnson City, Fredericksburg, Spicewood, Llano, Burnet, and Marble Falls, in the Texas Hill Country. Together as a family, the Burdetts have worked to make their home builder company a Lone Star State success and carried that tradition into new partnerships locally as well as through NAHB, helping to build our communities, grow our local economy, and create jobs.
