Houston Pup ‘Fat Vincent’ Transforms into ‘Skinny Vinnie’
Almost eight months ago, Vincent, the Houston dog, was around 40 pounds. Since, he’s lost half his body weight and looks dashing to boot.
Now, he’s down 20 pounds just in time for summer and is a healthy, happy 17 pounds thanks to the efforts of his foster mom, Melissa, who is with the K-9 Angels Rescue organization out of Houston. That organization is non-profit, canine specific rescue group that takes in homeless dogs with the hope of finding them homes.
When Vinnie arrived at the organization, he was extremely overweight. They popped him right in the swimming pool so he wouldn’t become overexerted in the August heat with walking, and off to working out he went.
His diet is extremely healthy with some raw carrots and bananas, but he needed to cut down on how much food he was eating in general. For a pup his size, about one-third of a cup is perfect for each meal, breakfast and dinner. Overfeeding dogs is a common problem because most people simply don’t know the right amount.
You can see Vincent on Good Morning America in the clip below where he made his national television debut and was the most behaved, sweet pup on air to date.
