Village Creek Park was open to visitors. However, the city of Fort Worth advised that people should observe social distancing guidelines and discouraged large gatherings in order to hopefully avoid the spread of COVID-19. At this time, the Fort Worth Police Department’s gang unit is taking the lead, and both state and federal authorities are actively involved in the investigation. The statewide Stay at Home order expired on May 1, 2020. Although there are plans in place to ease added restrictions, everyone is still being encouraged to keep social distancing and to refrain from holding large gatherings. Officer Calzada explained to the press that while the Fort Worth Police Department is advising people of the social distancing requirements, they’re trying not to have to enforce matters through citations. Police officers urge any citizens with information about the shooting to please call 817-469-8477. Can you help bring the shooter or shooters to justice? If you have any information that could help, don’t hesitate to reach to the investigators.
