Marble Falls has a secret. Alongside wine, golf, and recreational activities in the water, night brings a different kind of good time every last Saturday of the month. The Cadillac at Dos Conchas Ranch can be found on the town’s north edge. The area was settled by the Edwards family circa 1800s pre-civil war. This 500-acre tract of the ranch remained in the family until 2005, when it was purchased by local father and son Eddie Shell and Dr. Eddie Shell. For four years, Eddie built up a band and invited folks to come by and listen to them play. Word spread, crowds gathered, and ”Eddie Shell & the Not Guilties,” with Bode Barker and Friends, was born.

At first, the dance hall was contained inside the original livestock barn. Several expansions have occurred to accommodate larger groups and food! The “Grille” serves up a $5 blue plate special every second Wednesday during the live radio show broadcast onsite, and a juicy 14 oz. “Cadillac Stallion” sirloin steak with grilled onions and potatoes for $12 on Saturdays that the hall is open. Fajitas and catfish are also served. The kitchen open at 6:30 p.m., and the music starts at 7:30 p.m. and typically ends around midnight. Don’t eat too much, or you’ll have a hard time pushing your partner across the dance floor.

A large, covered front porch, an extensive Western memorabilia collection, and two large fireplaces make The Cadillac a stop worthy of planning. Cover is $15 per person. Coolers are allowed for beer, wine, and liquor; do leave those glass beer bottles at home! Setups and sodas are available there. Reserving a table is highly recommended. If traveling from Marble Falls, go 3 miles north of Walmart on Hwy 281. Turn left at RodeoTown/Pottery Ranch onto FM 1855 (Fairland Rd). Go one mile and turn left into Dos Conchas Ranch. Look for the ’56 Gold Cadillac decorated with lights and enjoy this Marble Falls hideaway!
