1960 -“Unchained Melody” (1965) by The Righteous Brothers. Years before “Ghost” made this song a staple, some may have taken to a dance floor with a flood of butterflies as they danced cheek to cheek.

1970 -“First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” (1972) by Roberta Flack. This tune could have been the first time you ever danced with that special someone and felt as if time stopped in its tracks.

1980 -“Careless Whisper” (1984) by George Michael and Wham. A classic 80’s song that I’m sure was for many 80’s kids their first dance.

1990 – “I Swear” (1994) by All-4-One. As we moved closer to a new sound and type of love song, this could have been for the 90’s that song that left a lasting imprint on your heart of that first dance with your special someone.

2000s – “Come Away With Me” (2002) by Norah Jones. Entering into a new decade of music this song with its peaceful and calming sound may have inspired many to come away with unforgettable memories of a first dance.

Present -“All of Me” (2013) by John Legend. Probably one of the most known love songs of today. Imagine creating a memory through a first dance where all of you is dancing in that moment with someone you will remember years down the road fondly.

Countless songs to choose from, but definitely some worth sharing as possible lifetime memory-makers. As we are in a new millennium and changing of times and music, one thing remains the same, a song can still impart a lasting impact full of memories that we carry with us in the story of our lives.
