In a study released by Foursquare, it turns out millennials love Tex-Mex more than the average American does. Tracking users’ fast-food choices to compile a list of the more popular chains, the location app company tracked millennials specifically to see their particular preferences. User data was tracked from both Foursquare and Swarm apps and was tabulated from April 2016 through March 2017, showing how much more apt their catchments were to visit certain chains compared to other fast-food eating citizens. 11 fast-food chains were ranked from lowest percentage (at 13) to highest (at 49 – by a large margin!) Texas millennials clearly had a hand in the use of the apps as you’ll seen in the top five choices in the data segment listed below:

5. Whataburger

According to the research, the likelihood of a millennial visiting this chain over the average American was 14 percent. For Whataburger to even figure within the tabulation for the entire U.S., let alone be in the top five, is astounding proof of two things: 1) Texans love Whataburger, and 2) Texas Millennials have buying power!
4. Jamba Juice

Although there’s no clear link between Texans and this healthier choice, nor does it corroborate the Tex-Mex theory, this chain ranked at number four. Jamba Juice was visited 18 percent more often by a millennial than the average American, and we can’t tell whether that’s a good thing for millennials in general, or shows poorly for the average Joe.
3. Wingstop

With the likelihood that a millennial would visit their chain 19 percent more than the average American, Wingstop figured in the top five of Foursquare’s study. Wings…who can’t relate?!
