Stroll around the church grounds and you’ll find plenty for everyone. For the kids there will be a zip line, a kiddie train, petting zoo, face painting, egg relay, a “mile long” paint project, a hula hoop contest, and lots of other games and activities.

The teens and adults haven’t been forgotten, though. There will be a classic car show, a washer tournament, and some fun games just for them, including a balloon pop, water balloon toss, and scavenger hunt. Prizes will be awarded!

Two highlights each year are the dunking booth and the pie-eating contest. Don’t miss them – and join in if you’re brave enough!

And what would an Oktoberfest be without some good oompah music? Members of the Lago Vista High School band will perform between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. near the food pavilion.

Don’t worry if you can’t remember all of this. A schedule of activities will be posted near the food booth, so just go, relax, and enjoy Oktoberfest in the Texas Hill Country! The weathermen are predicting a day too gorgeous to spend indoors!

Oktoberfest is the major parish fundraising event. All proceeds benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Knights of Columbus, Women’s Guild, and Men’s Club of St. Mary’s. These ministries help the disadvantaged in the Lago Vista area, provide scholarships, finance youth activities, and support seminarians. Proceeds also go to the Lago Vista Volunteers, local Emergency Response Teams, the Annunciation House, and more. So every dollar you spend will go to help someone else. Lots of fun for a good cause! Oktoberfest, St. Mary Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 6100 Lohman Ford. Road, Lago Vista; Saturday, October 8, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
