There is a very good read by Dr. Axe in Food is Medicine explaining more of the benefits of raw milk. In his article, Dr. Axe states, “The truth about raw milk? An extensive look into research and claims made by the FDA and CDC related to raw milk being dangerous have been found to be completely unwarranted. It actually benefits your body in many ways…”

The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology published an article following a study of 1133 children and it was concluded that “Continuous farm milk consumption in childhood protects against asthma at school age partially by means of higher intake of ω-3 polyunsaturated FAs, which are precursors of anti-inflammatory mediators.”

Another study published by the same Journal shows that infants who consumed raw milk reduced the risks of respiratory infections. The key issue here is the quality of milk you can acquire. Cleanliness is the big issue you must have. If a 30% or more reduction in respiratory infections and chronic fevers can be accomplished from the exceptional, nutritional pathogens of raw milk can you imagine the impact on the health of our children! And, nearly everyone knows someone that drank goat’s milk to survive as an infant. It sure wasn’t pasteurized.

As the old saying goes, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” That can certainly apply to organic since processing and added chemicals definitely break down nutrients in everything that undergoes these applications. The articles that vehemently vilify raw milk or foods prepared from raw milk products are many. There are people just as adamant that we should not drink milk after a certain age. Fortunately, calcium from a natural source has got to be better than from a chemical factory sealed up in a bottle.
