Remembering the Parents Who Are No Longer With Us
And if you’re like me and keep even letters and advice your mother would write down and share with you now you can re-create a lasting legacy of her own words, written by her and imprinted on a bracelet, or necklace for you to cherish and pass on to your children. With designers of custom jewelry like HeidiJHale, seeing her words come to life is more than possible.

Another special way you can honor your parents is to gather around and share memories they left behind to reflect on. Memories of moments that created such an impact that when you smell a certain aroma, for instance, it reminds you of her cooking, your dad’s cologne, your childhood. Those stories are a part of the fabric that make up who you are and the legacy they left behind in you. The way you show kindness towards others that is a reflection of your parents in you.
We all have our favorite memories some of which stand out more that takes us back to that time and place. It’s been six years since my mother passed, but I still remember watching her dance to her salsa music as she cooked dinner or cleaned the house which inspired my love for music. Standing on a stool making tortillas with my mother as she showed me how to perfectly roll them out inspired my love for cooking. How she tenderly held my daughter and taught me how love is never ending and continues on with the next generation.
Do you have a favorite memory of a time with your mother or father to share? Tell us which one is special to you.
