San Antonio’s Rivercenter Mall to Get New Lego Attraction and Aquarium
Tourists and locals of San Antonio know the Rivercenter Mall in the downtown area near the Alamo well, but two new attractions to be finished in 2018 will transform the center into more than just a shopping mall. MySA.com reports that the Sea Life Aquarium and Legoland Discovery will soon have their own spaces at Rivercenter, dedicating 65,000 square feet to their colorful and interesting attractions.
MySA.com explains that the New York real estate investment firm that owns the Rivercenter Mall has teamed up with a U.K. company called Merlin Entertainments to bring the Lego and aquarium themes to the mall. “These attractions will further define the Shops at Rivercenter and downtown San Antonio as one of the premier entertainment destinations throughout the U.S.,” the CEO of the investment firm, Ashkenazy Acquisitions, said.
Legoland will be geared toward children between the ages of 3 to 10, but since Lego has a large adult following, it should appeal to “kids” of all ages. According to KSAT, there will be “party rooms, a 4-D cinema, themed rides and play areas.” The Sea Life Aquarium will offer visitors a way to literally walk underwater by strolling through a tunnel surrounded by swimming sharks, starfish, stingrays and seahorses.
