RodeoHouston fans will be anxiously awaiting the concert lineup announcement for the 2020 event, yet to be announced this month. But how will the iconic Texas rodeo spectacular top last year’s concert lineup news, having wrapped up the 2019 shows with the King of Country Music himself? George Strait performed the final concert of last year’s RodeoHouston schedule, playing to a sold-out show on March 17, 2019. His opening acts were none other than Robert Earl Keen and Lyle Lovett, which made for a triple Texas threat in the music department! If you were lucky enough to snag a ticket to this top-of-the-line show, you were among the very few to witness history in the making. So how will this year’s concert lineup compare?

Last year’s announcement of Strait being the closing concert, among such country cohorts as Kacey Musgraves (also hailing from Texas), Tim McGraw, the Zac Brown Band, and Luke Bryan, blew the social media world up! The efforts of the RodeoHouston concert organizers to prepare a lineup of “Texas-sized entertainment” proved their ability to dream big, and the fans couldn’t have been happier. The countless shares and comments of last year’s announcement was only outpaced in popularity by the ticket sales, which opened on January 11 last year, and featured an online waiting room an hour ahead of sale time.

Calling last year’s concert series their “most diverse lineup in years,” RodeoHouston will have some big musical shoes to fill if they’re looking to keep on par with 2019’s featured artists. Among them, Cardi B was listed (and even petitioned not to sing), as well as Camila Cabello, Zedd, and Panic! At The Disco. Last year’s announcement was so big, in fact, that it had leaked in advance of the official event announcement by TicketMaster as well as social media influencers. This year’s RodeoHouston schedule is set for March 3 – 22, 2020 at NRG Stadium. Their efforts to continue attracting Texas fans as well as a potential following from out-of-state will be anchored in country music, despite the diversity of last year’s lineup. According to RodeoHouston President and CEO, Joel Cowley, who called it the cornerstone genre, the organization was “excited to present a wonderfully diverse and talented” lineup. The 2020 entertainment acts are anticipated to be announced in the very near future, and RodeoHouston fans are champing at the bit! Who do you think they’ll be able to book for your listening pleasure? And how do you think they can actually top the 2019 presentation of George Strait?
