Escape the hardships of the pandemic by visiting the Sage Hill Inn & Spa, a Texas Hill Country, five-star inn. Stress melts away in this quaint, rustic, but elegant B&B, and you’ll find solace to a troubled spirit. The isolation envelopes you in comfort and dissolves the worries we’ve all endured this past year. The closest town is Kyle, Texas, and it’s about five miles away.

Situated approximately 25 miles southwest of Austin, Sage Hill Inn is a replica of a homestead built in 1800. Sage Hill Inn & Spa exudes old-world charm, elegance, and grace. It’s a romantic, unforgettable place, and you’ll not want to return to the real world.

Widespread vistas call from the hilltop perch. Several suites in the main lodge have two verandas. Sit in a rocker on the balcony with a glass of Hill Country wine as you watch the sun melt into the horizon. It’s an exquisite memory maker. The next morning, while sipping coffee, sit on the opposite side and watch the sun rise to meet the day. You’ll see deer, and they’ll see you. They’re a friendly sort. Wildlife abounds, so take lots of pictures.

Now that the sun is up, how do you want to spend the day? At the spa with a massage? That sounds delightful. Hike 5 miles and then take a dip in the refreshing pool? Yes, there’s that, too. How about a stroll through the vegetable and flower gardens? The Sage Inn & Spa offers manicured areas as well as bucolic, natural ones. It sits on 88 acres with five miles of trails to challenge the hiker. Be sure to walk down the hill to Onion Creek and take in the view at the Overlook. The Overlook stands eighty feet above the creek. Onion Creek is famous as the source for the waterfall in McKinney Falls State Park in Austin, and it wanders through the property. The creek is often dry at this site, so you can amble the creek bed or return to the mapped trails.

Maybe hiking isn’t on your agenda. Perhaps you’d rather pitch horseshoes and relax before enjoying a 5-star dinner. The chef will amaze you. Most of the vegetables served are grown in the Inn’s gardens, and the chef makes them mouth-watering delicious.

The stars at night are big and bright in Texas, don’t you know? And you’ll see plenty of them when the sun goes down. Gaze at those stars in awe, or traipse down to the gigantic fire pit and toast marshmallows. You’ll find too many choices for one visit.

The Inn accepts adults only and follows the regulations set for Covid-19 safety.
