Cool Down With This Yummy Sangria Ice Recipe

Summertime is the right time to enjoy a delicious and refreshing Spanish beverage made with red wine, berries, and orange juice. This Sangria Ice recipe is a great treat to enjoy with friends around that fire pit.

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup dry red wine

1 cup water

16 oz. mixed frozen berries

1 orange thinly sliced

2/3 cup fresh orange juice

¼ cup sugar

6 orange slices

INSTRUCTIONS:

Combine red wine, water, frozen berries, and orange in large bowl. Cover and chill 8 hours-remove orange-discard. Press berry mixture through a sieve over a bowl, discard solids. Combine berry mixture, orange juice and sugar in 8-inch dish, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Cover and freeze.   Stir with fork every 45 minutes until slushy (about 4 hours). Remove berry mixture from freezer, scrape mixture with fork until fluffy. Garnish with orange slices.

Yield: 6 servings
