Singer Seal was live streaming to Facebook when he came across a girl named Poppy singing and playing guitar on a sunny day in Manchester, England. After she finished a song, he approached her. He told the girl he’d been listening to her play for about 15 minutes, and he thought she was great.

She could hardly believe that Seal, a popular British soul artist and multiple Grammy winner, had watched her perform! After chatting about her aspirations, all while streaming live on Facebook, Seal suggested they sing a song together.

Their rendition of Bob Marley’s song “I Shot the Sheriff” can be seen in the video below, along with their friendly banter and a glimpse of the growing crowd around them.

Even more incredibly, that night Seal invited Poppy to open his show! He introduced her on stage to a warm welcoming crowd that was blown away by her talent just as Seal was. Can you imagine what it must have felt like to go from playing guitar on the street to performing for a huge audience in a big theater on the same day? It’s incredible how the newly discovered singer-songwriter kept her cool through all of the excitement and much-deserved recognition.
