Google isn’t just your run-of-the-mill reference tool. It’s a search engine which has proven its weight in gold! People swear by it. They reference their school work, tax guidelines, and health through it. It’s not surprising then, that they would also source some amazing recipes on it, with which to feed their families. That’s why the online behemoth of information recently released its 2018 list of the top 10 most-searched recipes – the sum of which might surprise you.

In this day and age, when we appear fascinated by monstrous meals, or the exact opposite—going into ketosis—the search for recipes that will suit our lifestyles is big business. Entire online giants such as Delish and GoodFood.com have built empires out of our wish to enjoy the best of the best in gastronomy. We follow willingly, purchasing ingredients we may only use once in a blue moon in hopes of not only creating something mouth-watering, but oftentimes something photogenic for our own social media gratification. In Texas, however, we appear to stick to the classics, as an article released in July of last year indicated we were still huge fans of tortilla soup!

And those in other states appear to be following suit. Surprisingly, this year’s Google list of the most-searched recipes included such classics as lasagna, scalloped potatoes, and even meatloaf. Yes, there were some standout dishes, of course. The fact that Brussels sprouts made the list as a popular veggie recipe, might give one pause for thought, for example. But, ultimately, is it any wonder that folks wanted to know how to make some delicious beef stroganoff? Are you surprised that chicken parmesan made the list? Below are the top 10 most-searched recipes themselves. Take a look, and see how many you may have investigated online in your culinary creation process. And if you haven’t Googled number one on the list, it’s probably because you’ve found the best place in Texas to buy one! (C’mon, you can tell us! It’s not like we’ll share it on Google… *wink, wink).
