Season 5 of “Property Brothers” features make-overs of two seaside homes in Galveston, TX as our favorite dynamic duo creates design masterpieces of these beach homes. Brother vs. Brother faces off to see who transforms the best beach worthy get-away retreat on the season premiere May 31st.
With a budget of $600.000 each, real estate agent Drew and his twin, construction worker Jonathan, set out to take on the challenges of building these dream vacation spots that a beach town brings. With not only the moisture and humidity working against them, they also have to deal with the salt water air as they face structural obstacles that come across their way shares HGTV.
Drew and Jonathan continue the brotherly love of competition for best home transformation. Reigning champ Jonathan could be taken down this time if Drew is able to shine through with his remodel of a two story home that is looking more like it will need to be a complete gut job according to HGTV. Jonathan is tackling a single-story three bedroom out-dated home in need of updates all-around. “For me, failure is not an option,” Drew said. “This year, I’m going to win or die trying.”
Galveston will be front and center as the Brothers showcase the best this quaint town has to offer. “To up the ante of the weekly room challenge, the winner will get to send the loser off on miserable outings like riding a scary amusement park ride on repeat, climbing an 81-foot obstacle ropes course or catching shrimp for dinner — all while the winner parties it up with friends flyboarding, playing with penguins and zip-lining,” shared HGTV.
On deck to make things more exciting will be J.D. Scott, the Property Brother’s older sibling. Also adding to the mix will be guest judges on hand to assist with the competition winner of the room challenge. “David Bromstad (My Lottery Dream Home) and Egypt Sherrod (Flipping Virgins) are up first, followed by Eric and Lindsey Bennett (Desert Flippers), Tiffany Brooks (HGTV Smart Home), Karen E Laine and Mina Starsiak (Good Bones), Ben Sargent (DIY Network’s Backyard Goldmine) and Brett Waterman (DIY Network’s Restored),” shared the HGTV website.
