Auto lovers will be thrilled to check out all the shiny new vehicles on display at the 2019 Texas State Fair. Texas Auto Show, the largest new car auto show in the Southwest, lasts all 24 days of the fair (September 27-October 20).

The fair’s auto show seems to grow larger every year, slowly but surely taking up a little more space from the 277-acre fairgrounds. Over 400 of the latest models, as well as concept models, are displayed by the world’s leading manufacturers. You don’t have to walk far before bumping into some type of auto display. Cars, trucks, and automotive products and accessories are all around.

Bring the whole family out to kick the tires on a new ride, try a simulated drive, or sign up for a real drive if you have a license. Texas Auto Show displays take over the Automobile Building, the Centennial Building, and an Outdoor Truck Zone. Inside the Automobile Building, you’ll find Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Fiat, Buick, Chevrolet, and Ford vehicles.

Imported vehicles are found in the Centennial Building. Infinity, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Lexus, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, Volkswagen, and Volvo are all on exhibit. Special truck areas include Nissan’s display across from the Music Hall at Fair Park. Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Ram, and Toyota trucks line the First Avenue path to Big Tex. All roads lead to Big Tex!

At many of the truck displays, barkers like those on the Midway yell themselves hoarse. They tout prizes, beanbag tosses, tire kicking, autographs, obstacle courses, photo ops, or drive opportunities for their vehicles.

Admission to Texas Auto Show, plus all the great musical entertainment on stages throughout the fairgrounds, is free to fairgoers. Most of the exhibits are also free, but you’ll need to buy coupons for corny dogs or other delicious fair food. Updated schedules of musical acts, parades, or other activities are available on bigtex.com.
